Safety and Training Supervisor / Professional

SUMMARY OF POSTION:

To coordinate day-to-day safety requirement of the project. Under the direction of the Safety Manager, responsible for providing support to project management team, to be a leader in safety.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the project by maintaining a visible presence to the field performing site visits to the entire project at least once per shift, if possible, coordinate with the project manager.
  • Inform the project management team and supervision of any new or conflictive legislative matters that could impact the project.
  • Provide direction, support and resource to all site managers, supervisors, foremen and safety advisors.
  • Ensure that all incidents are reported immediately.
  • Coordinate a regular meeting with Project to review issues, trends and upcoming conditions or events.
  • Ensure employees are properly trained regarding company and OSHA safety requirements.
  • Assist Safety Manager in creating, maintaining, and communicating safety related policies and procedures.
  • Inspect proper practices are observed on project site.
  • Properly maintaining and making sure all equipment is safe.
  • Frequently perform site safety inspections.
  • Responsible for ensuring company is in compliance with all safety regulatory requirements.

Qualifications/Experience/ Skills and Attributes

Required:

  • OSHA 510
  • OSHA 30
  • Detailed understanding of Codes of Practice and experience implementing Policies and Codes
  • Exceptional knowledge of project safety requirements
  • Experience with implementation of Work Method Statements and Safety Procedures
  • Involvement in Industry Safety Committees and organizing training of workers and staff
  • Exceptional knowledge of project safety requirements
  • Gather information to make good decisions relating to project HSE issues
  • Show leadership within the company in respect to HSE
  • Experience using the Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize work
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A personal values system demonstrably consistent with organizational values

Work Conditions / Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be working in an outdoor field site setting
  • Hours: 6:30am – 3:30pm and is based on daylight hours and project needs
  • Physical Requirements – The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work environment requires alertness to surroundings and potential dangers to themselves and others.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Required to bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, color, distance, peripheral and ability to adjust focus
