General Description of Position:   We are seeking passionate individuals eager to apply their skills to take their careers to the next level. Your job responsibilities include a skilled individual who will be involved with the safe and efficient operation of a loader on the base crew. Needs to have prior experience picking up spoil piles or windrows, pushing/grading fill and base material, loading trucks with material, checking grade with the crew and operating a roller or water truck.

Key Responsibilities:

• Checks oil, water, fuel tires, hydraulic system, etc. and makes appropriate adjustments to be certain vehicle is in proper operating condition prior to leaving for jobsite
• Operates gasoline and diesel-powered equipment and vehicles engaged in construction and repair work, including dozer, motor grader, backhoe, rubber-tire and truck loader, front-end loader
• Conducts safety and maintenance checks on assigned equipment and machinery
• Start engines, move throttles, switches, and levers, and depress pedals to operate machines.
• Signal truck driver to position truck to facilitate loading of dirt, rocks, and other materials.
• Take actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions such as utility lines, other equipment, and falling objects.
• Perform maintenance work to equipment including oiling, greasing, and making necessary adjustments.

Experience and Training:  2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work environment:  The work environment/physical demands characteristics described here are representative of those the employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat.

The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or hot- humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; and high and/ or precarious places.
